If you are trying to save time by conserving mana, then it isn't going to work. The mana or time you save will be spent bandaging or healing yourself from the mob hitting you while you beat it to death (which will be slow - your melee damage is tiny compared to your spell damage. <br />Far better to root them in place and nuke them with spells. When the root breaks, then re-root them or use Natures Grasp to root them, move out of melee range and continue to nuke them.
